Jack Gu is a partner of V&T’s fund formation practice. His primary practice focuses on the formation and representation of private investment funds both in China and internationally. In particular, Jack specializes in representing fund managers investing in China in connection with the formation of their USD/RMB-dominated funds, including venture capital funds, private equity funds and project funds, as well as upper-tier arrangements, carried interest plans and various governance matters. Jack also represents institutional investors (including sovereign wealth funds and funds of funds) and other investors in connection with investments in private funds. Apart from fund formation, Jack also has profound legal and commercial expertise in the fields of venture capital and private equity investments, joint venture and mergers & acquisitions matters. He represents emerging companies, venture capital and private equity investors, strategic buyers in M&A, private equity, venture capital and growth transactions, financings, restructurings and other general corporate matters.
